Resin Bound Patio & Pathways in Epsom

This resin bound surfacing project in Epsom involved the transformation of the rear garden with a new 50m² resin bound patio and pathway, creating a smart, practical and low-maintenance outdoor space for the homeowners to enjoy.

The project began with the excavation and preparation of the existing area. New footings were installed to allow for the construction of approximately nine metres of brick walling, helping to define and structure the new landscaped space. Brick edging was also laid around the perimeter, providing an attractive contrast to the resin surface and giving the finished patio crisp, well-defined borders.

A weed control membrane and compacted Type 1 sub-base were installed before laying a porous tarmac base. The area was then finished with resin bound aggregate, creating a smooth and seamless surface across the patio and connecting pathways.

The permeable resin surface provides an attractive alternative to traditional paving, combining a contemporary appearance with excellent drainage, durability and easy maintenance. Extending the same finish through the patio and paths also helps the different areas of the garden flow naturally together.

The completed project has created a much more usable and attractive outdoor area, with the new brickwork, edging and resin surfacing working together to provide a high-quality finish designed for years of use.
